About Us

Jen is a strategic, authentic and collaborative communicator, with experience delivering projects and gathering public support through state-wide, regional, and local outreach tactics.

As an Account Executive at Nyhus, she uses her knowledge of infrastructure policy, environmental regulations and public involvement practices to support Nyhus’ real estate and development clients. Her work includes developing focused messaging platforms that lead to dynamic and meaningful engagement with diverse audiences.

Additionally, Jen specializes in public involvement efforts required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).

Previous to joining the Nyhus team, Jen spent five years leading and contributing to public affairs and public involvement efforts on local policy issues including transportation infrastructure and tolling.  As the Deputy Manager of Communications for the Washington State Department of Transportation’s I-405 Corridor Program, Jen helped craft messaging platforms and supported communications efforts to inform and engage corridor advisory committees, legislators, mayors, neighborhood organizations and the public during the Eastside Corridor Tolling Study public process.

While an undergrad at the University of Washington, Jen got her public affairs start as an intern for both Seattle City Councilmember Jean Godden and the Seattle Department of Transportation.

Originally from El Paso, TX, Jen ventured to the Pacific Northwest to pursue a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Washington. In 2011, she returned to the UW where she completed a certification program in Environmental Law and Regulation. Jen enjoys watching Husky football, concerts at the Gorge and renovating her home in Shoreline.
