Aaron brings to the Nyhus team an understanding of public involvement in communications efforts for both the public and private sectors. Aaron serves as an account executive helping clients effectively engage with their key audiences through social media, media relations, targeted communications and events. He is energized by shaping messaging and communications strategies to connect stakeholders and approaches clients’ objectives with creativity and efficiency.

Prior to joining Nyhus, Aaron worked for PRR, a Seattle-based communications agency, supporting local government clients on transit and land use development projects. As a senior project coordinator, Aaron helped plan communications and public involvement strategies for large-scale public projects. Aaron managed correspondence on behalf of the clients, assisted in the development and execution of public outreach events, and oversaw the creation of a public safety education plan benefiting immigrant and limited English proficiency communities across the city. He worked on the agency’s marketing team coordinating earned media events and writing copy for outreach and ad campaigns.

Aaron received his master’s degree in public affairs from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington where he focused on public-private partnerships, public relations and project management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish also from the University of Washington.

A true Seattleite, Aaron would almost always prefer to be in a coffee shop reading the news or a dense novel. He is an amateur techie and lover of board games, political races, cooking and urban development.
