Nyhus takes home international award win: PR News Platinum PR Award in Public Affairs!

We are proud to announce that our work on the launch of Washington United for Marriage received the PR News award for Public Affairs! Our team came together last year to lead the launch of the multifaceted coalition of organizations, congregations, unions, and businesses in support of the freedom to marry for all couples.
PR News described our work as, “a robust PR, public affairs, marketing and social media-led effort” that led “Gov. Christine Gregoire to introduce a marriage equality bill [that] the state legislature passed into law”.
Roger Nyhus, CEO and president of Nyhus Communications said of the project: “My team poured their hearts in to the launch of Washington United for Marriage and stopped short of nothing to ensure its success. Our strategy was smart and our connections were real. Nyhus is so incredibly proud to have been a part of this moment in history.”
We thank the leaders at Washington United for Marriage for their trust in Nyhus’ ability to serve as their launch partner. Nyhus worked closely with Washington United for Marriage to establish their brand, advocate with Washington legislators and Governor Gregoire, raise broad awareness via the media, and build support with digital strategies. You can read more about our strategy here.
Nyhus is proud to have been considered for the award along with Weber Shandwick, Hill+Knowlton, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Powell Tate, GolinHarris, FTI Consulting, Illinois Tollway, Rusnano, Stratacommm LLC, Waters Corp., Entertainment Software Association, and Arizona State University.
