marchex logo Marchex

In the fall of 2009, Marchex, a Seattle-based performance advertising and local search company, tapped Nyhus to drive interest and buzz for the beta launch of Marchex Reputation Management, a product that would help small- to medium-sized businesses monitor what their customers were saying about them online. Working against a tight deadline, the company was launching an early-stage version of the platform— traditionally a media relations challenge. Nyhus created a public relations plan that leveraged industry resources, customer testimonials and tailored messaging to grab the attention of a targeted set of media. The team worked diligently to arrange meetings between Marchex executives and members of the media. To add credibility to the early-stage product, Nyhus worked with Marchex to identify several beta users who could applaud the product. The campaign also leveraged third-party references from industry analysts and industry statistics to add depth to Marchex’s story.
