
Joe Feese
Chief Writer
Joe Feese is a creative and innovative communications professional with more than 16 years of diverse experience in public relations, journalism, strategic planning, project management, marketing, editorial consulting and publishing. He has a keen ability to synthesize complex information and distill the big picture. Joe serves as the final editorial quality–assurance manager for all written materials produced by Nyhus.
Joe is currently the project lead for SNW (Seattle–Northwest Securities), the Northwest’s top financial advisor, and Blue Sky Cleaners, a company that is pioneering a new method of environmentally friendly dry cleaning. He also works closely with developer Urban Partners to manage public relations and community outreach for mixed–use developments that will transform the downtowns of Burien and Kenmore into urban villages.
Having been a professional journalist, he speaks reporters’ language and has a strong sense for how to shape and position news. In addition to serving as the senior writer for the public affairs team, Joe actively supports the real estate team at Nyhus, writing press releases, advertorials, brochures and other marketing and advertising materials.
As the project lead for Westport, the top yacht builder in North America, Joe created and managed successful media relations strategies for the launch of the company’s flagship yacht, the 50 Meter, which resulted in international coverage. He also played an integral part in successfully implementing media strategies to launch the new luxury line of senior living communities for ÁegisLiving.
Joe has written for ABC News, Microsoft, arts and entertainment guides, the Department of Defense, a music magazine and an environmental humor magazine. His writings include Op–Eds, customer case studies, advertising brochures, white papers, essays, newsletters and marketing collateral for a range of audiences including consumers, technical and business decision–makers, community influencers and high–level executives.
As a Science & Technology producer for ABC News.com, Joe wrote breaking news, feature articles, commentaries and news analyses. Joe also covered major events and conferences as a solo reporter, photographer, audio engineer and editorial columnist.
As one of the first employees hired for Microsoft’s venture into consumer publishing, Joe helped identify the overall content strategy and framework for an online arts, travel and entertainment guide, working closely with the marketing and development teams for the product’s launch in cities worldwide.
For several years, in both Washington, D.C., and Seattle, Joe operated a marketing and editorial consulting business. His clients included the National Academy of Sciences, Microsoft, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, NIIT, Makers Architecture, Media Inc. magazine, Synergy (a defense contractor in Washington, D.C.) and St. Anthony Publishing (medical press).
Most recently, Joe worked in the Seattle office of the London–based marketing services firm Write Image (now Metia), where he helped create and edit case studies and public relations materials.
Joe has a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Syracuse University, with a minor in anthropology. He has also done graduate work in publications at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
