Nyhus Communications Welcomes
Four New Team Members
SEATTLE – Feb. 20, 2008 – Nyhus Communications LLC, a Seattle-based strategic public relations and public affairs firm, today announced the addition of four new team members: Sally Poliak, chief operating officer; Gary Fuller, director of accounting and finance; Nate Cole-Daum, account executive; and Leslie Boelter, account coordinator.
“Our people are our most important asset,” said Roger Nyhus, president and CEO of Nyhus. “As we’ve attracted new and diverse clients, we have been fortunate to attract highly accomplished, motivated and service-oriented professionals to serve our clients’ strategic communications needs.”
Drawing on 20 years of public affairs and marketing experience, Sally Poliak, Nyhus’ new chief operating officer, oversees Nyhus’ international and marketing clients as well as leads the day-to-day operations at Nyhus. Prior to joining Nyhus, Poliak managed international marketing and public affairs teams at Microsoft for 10 years and led the company’s Global Leaders’ Forum, a series of international policy events for ministers and heads of state. She has also operated her own consulting business and managed regional political campaigns.
As the director of accounting and finance at Nyhus, Gary Fuller oversees Nyhus’ financial operations, including billing and office accounting systems. Fuller has more than 30 years of experience, during which he has served as vice president of finance for Two Downtown, Ltd., and as director of front-office operations for the Edgewater Inn.
Nate Cole-Daum, Nyhus’ newest account executive, brings extensive experience in transportation- and development-related public affairs projects as well as in customer service, PR and marketing for some of Washington’s top business groups, issues-based coalitions and nonprofit associations. Cole-Daum has a strong affinity for distilling and developing compelling messages in media pitches, press releases, contributed articles, broadcast e-mails, newsletters, web content and speeches.
As an account coordinator, Leslie Boelter supports public relations efforts for Nyhus’ hospitality and real estate clients. Previously at other premier Seattle PR firms, Boelter handled promotions for Microsoft, Starbucks, Avanade, COUNTRY Insurance and Pearl Jam.
Since 1994, Nyhus has developed effective strategic communications programs for commercial real estate development, hospitality, education and other major public policy initiatives. The company’s efforts have included everything from promoting new high-rise real estate to advocating for zoning changes and improved transportation infrastructure. Nyhus’ goal is to become an extension of its clients’ teams – a true partner. Nyhus has a proven record of success for its clients and pro-bono projects, including recent high-profile media coverage of the new Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Seattle and Fifteen Twenty-One Second Avenue, which will be among Seattle’s tallest residential towers because of the firm’s successful efforts at helping to change the downtown zoning code.
