Sandeep Kaushik
Senior Strategist

An experienced political, communications and public affairs strategist who has worked on numerous political campaigns, Sandeep consults with Nyhus as a senior strategist.

Sandeep’s extensive campaign experience includes serving as communications director for the No on I–920 (estate tax repeal) campaign in 2006, as a consultant for the Not Another Elevated Viaduct campaign, as campaign manager for the King County parks levies campaign in 2007 and as a consultant on a host of other campaigns.

Between 2005 and 2007, Sandeep worked as deputy communications director for King County Executive Ron Sims. During this time, he also served as the communications director for the Washington State Budget & Policy Center, a Seattle think tank (affiliated with the Center on Budget and Policy priorities in Washington, D.C.) that focuses on budgetary and taxation issues in Washington State.

Prior to joining the King County Executive’s office, Sandeep worked as a reporter, writer and columnist for several publications, including as a freelance correspondent for Time magazine and the Boston Globe.

Sandeep has a bachelor’s degree in history from Reed College and a master’s degree in British history from Princeton University. He lives in Seattle’s Phinney Ridge neighborhood with his wife and two children.
